There once was a boy,
Liked by all who knew him,
He was kind, generous, and understanding,
And he loved with all his heart.
As the boy grew older,
He met many fair maids,
Several took a liking to him,
But he was never to bright in the matter of the heart
Every time he felt close to love,
It was quickly striped away from him,
His heart shattered in several pieces,
Every time it mended, a little bit was lost.
Years later he matured to a man,
He now learned of his mistakes in the past,
And was a reference of knowledge for others,
He was now a hopeless romantic
Later a girl he once liked sees him from afar,
And in a moment of clarity he realizes something,
She does not see him, she sees an idea,
An idea of the man she wants, but it is not him she sees.
He then realizes why his heart was broken in so many pieces,
Why he could never find love,
It had hit him, he is an idea that women want but fail to grasp,
An idea that will remain an idea and nothing more.
He tried to contemplate what he just found out,
This could not be so, he was sure he was meant for love,
Then why did she look at him so?
Why did all other women look at him this way?
He then made his decision to give up on love,
You maybe wonder how could a romantic do that,
Then you have forgotten that he was hopeless,
He gave up hope that he will ever gain love.
So now the man lives alone inside his shell,
The idea, still remaining like a bird that never hatched,
There he stayed, the romantic that was never loved,
What kind of world do we live in when a lover fails to gain love?
